“Telling the Story of Rothe House”
~Imagining Renaissance Kilkenny~
Conference
Saturday 27th April
At
Rothe House & Garden, Parliament Street, Kilkenny.
Works will commence in 2013 to re-present the House as an ‘exemplar of an early seventeenth century merchant’s house’, in line with the Conservation Plan which was published in 2002. Kilkenny Archaeological Society (KAS) and The Rothe House Trust (RHT) are staging a conference to share recent summaries of knowledge on the interpretation of the House. The conference is being held to ensure that recent extensive research is coupled with the collective knowledge of society members and friends of Rothe House and suitably reflected in the re-presentation. Recent archaeological research will be presented to stimulate debate about the most appropriate interpretation and presentation messages that the Trust and Society ought to strive to communicate through the Renaissance Project.
