mng’ presents “Connecting Colmcille”
Donegal’s premier community tourism enterprise, ‘mng’ launches their newest tourism product – A 7 day cultural tour in Donegal and Derry titled – Connecting Colmcille. There are two exclusive tour dates in 2015, June 7-13th and August 9th – 15th. The tour was originally inspired through working on the “Slí Cholmcille Conference” that took place in June 2014, in Gortahork in association with Foras na Gaeilge, Islands Book Trust and Bord Gadhlig. It was through working on this conference that mng learned that the High Cross at Ray Church in Falcarragh could be the earliest and tallest ringed high cross in Ireland.
“I was utterly inspired by this information, as well as the site of the cross, all the legends of Colmcille, and designed this experience to connect with it’s awe inspiring glory and significance, just imagine if this cross was in Kerry, says Moira Ni Ghallachóir, founder of mng.
mng who are widely known for their adventure and culture experience Rock agus Roam are collaborating with renowned archaeologist and historian Dr. Brian Lacey, Áras Cholmcille of Derry, Ostan Loch Altan Gort a Choirce, and Bus Feda to present this world premier event.
This tour connects the landscape and culture, with the past, the present and the future.
